Bajaj Platina, a new 100cc bike from Bajaj Auto to take on TVS Star City has been launched. The cheaper version will come for Rs 34,500, while the higher version of Bajaj Platina will cost Rs 36000. Both are ex-showroom prices, Delhi. Bajaj hopes to sell about 75,000-80,000 units of Platinas a month.
Will Bajaj Platina cannibalise Bajaj CT100? The company is expecting that to some extent, but maintains that it can make better margins out of the Platina.
Bajaj Auto has also announced plans to launch a dual-fuel bike which will run on CNG /LPG as well as petrol. The bike under development.
